1) All bassoon reeds are handmade over a period of 21 days with a gouging machine, profiling machine, two hands, files, and patience.
2) All reeds are tested before you receive them on a bassoon with real music and are not shipped to you unless I feel you can use them immediately.
3) All reeds are made with 21 gauge wire, which is slightly stronger than the the standard 22 gauge wire and which I feel will hold the blades and the entire reed in place better.
4) All other supplies are made in the same meticulous manner as the finished bassoon reeds.

6) When ordering, always follow these strength guidelines:
--medium soft : the e below open f dips into an eflat but stabilizes the next day.
--medium : plays stacatto & legato from high g all the way down to b flat easily
--medium hard : quite resistant throughout
